Vancouver Special is a retail store offering a carefully curated selection of contemporary furniture, sofas, design objects, household accessories, and art and architecture books. Vancover Special also hosts various events, lectures, parties and sales at the store.

Vancouver Special opened in April 2008 on Main Street at East 20th Ave in the heart of Vancouver’s lovely Mt. Pleasant neighborhood. The shop’s aim is to promote the idea that good design can be accessible, affordable, of high quality and bring pleasure to daily life. The Vancouver Special – Team is constantly researching and traveling in order to provide a fresh, constantly evolving product mix.

Which one is your favourite Lomography camera and why?
I love my Diana F+ Hong Meow! I’ve taken it on many holidays and nothing captures the light, beaches and sunsets in Hawaii quite like it.

What’s the weirdest Lomographic moment you’ve ever had?
My 2 year old daughter was given a Lomography Diana Mini as a gift, and I thought she wasn’t old enough to know what it was, but she picked it up and stuck it right to her face and said “cheese” with a big smile.

What is the nerdiest question you’ve ever been asked in your shop?
Not really nerdy, but we’ve had a few teenagers ask us, “What’s film”?

Where is the best place to shoot some Lomographic masterpieces in your city?
Everywhere!
